There is not a single person in India who won't know Mahendra Singh Dhoni.From a school going boy in a small town like Ranchi to a ticket collector at a railway station in Kharagpur and then becoming one of the greatest captains in cricket history,Dhoni's life-story is no less than a fairytale.No one would have believed that a boy who was the goal-keeper for his school football team will one day become the greatest wicket keeper in Indian cricket history.In the early 2000s,Indian cricket team highly lacked a wicket-keeper who could bat for them in all the formats of the game.So Rahul Dravid used to keep the wickets which ultimately affected his batting.He wasn't able to concentrate fully on his batting due to which his form declined.But in 2005 when Mahendra Singh Dhoni made his debut for India,everyone realised that their long last problem of wicket-keeping is resolved.MS Dhoni not only kept the wickets but also played crucial innings with the bat whenever required.Since then,MSD hasn't looked back.

Born on July 7,1981 in a middle class family,Dhoni paved his way to success by his hard work.He didn't have an impressive debut match for India but once he got his flow,he made his mark in International cricket and he made it well. In 2007,India got defeated by Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup and was ultimately eliminated from the group stage.MS Dhoni was hugely criticized,some passionate fans even threw stones at his house.Rahul Dravid,who was the then captain of Indian cricket team,resigned from his captaincy.India was in need of a captain now.And it was again Mahendra Singh Dhoni who came to the rescue.He not just captained the team but also made them win the inaugural edition of ICC t20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007.Since then he has achieved great feats as a captain.He lead India to win the ICC World Cup 2011,ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and also the number one test rankings in Test cricket. Till now,you will have assumed that he is a great captain.What if I tell you that he is an equally good batsman and a far better wicket-keeper.There is nothing in cricket MS Dhoni can't do.He can make lightning-fast stumpings,he can guide the bowler and set the field for him,he can finish the innings as well.His experience is a boost to any team in the world.He has also been listed as one of the most valuable players in IPL.If you want proof,you can read it here:MS Dhoni-the most valuable player in IPL

But still there are some cricket fans out there who think MS Dhoni has lost his charm and should retire as soon as he can.I would like to ask them that why should he retire.He is 36 years old and is still fitter than most of the young players in the team.He can run fast,his reflexes are still good,he can hit long sixes.Virat Kohli is still new as a captain and he would require a lot of help and guidance from MS Dhoni.Even Virat Kohli admits that MS Dhoni still has a lot of cricket left in him.From Rohit Sharma to Ravi Shastri,everyone believes that if MSD wants he can play till ICC World Cup 2023.As for me,MSD is the last player from my childhood and I would never want him to retire.His haters want him to retire after the World Cup next year,to which I and all his fans do not agree at all.We want MS to play as long as he can.It is completely his decision as to when to retire and we must leave it to him.

Chennai might no longer host IPL matches this year!!!

CHENNAI MIGHT NO LONGER HOST IPL MATCHES THIS YEAR

Chepauk Stadium,which is the home ground of  two time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings,may not host any IPL games this year any longer.Due to the recent Cauvery Water Dispute,the home games of CSK might be shifted from Chepauk Stadium.Just Yesterday,CSK made their return to their home ground Chepauk after 2 long years.And boy what a return it was,CSK chased down 202 against KKR with one ball to spare.The support for CSK in their home ground was overwhelming.

Many pro-tamil activists protested against the happening of the match.Many film directors and politicians were also involved in the protest.According to them,the public is in grief and they do not need IPL now.In fact,legendary actor Rajnikanth stated hosting IPL matches as an 'embarrassment' for Tamil Nadu.He also said that players should wear black bands during matches to bring the Tamil Nadu distress infornt of the whole country.The agitations by these protesters lead to traffic on the busy streets of Chennai,which ultimatley caused a delay in the journey of CSK team from hotel to stadium.

However the administration took steps towards securing the stadium by guarding the venue with more than 4000 police personnel.Although the match went smoothly,some of the activists inside the ground threw shoes near CSK players Ravindra Jadeja and Francois du Plessis.Three of them were later detained by the police.

When the administration contacted IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla,he replied that IPL is just a 'punching bag' in political fights and that it had nothing to do with Cauvery.

However following the match of CSK vs KKR,BCCI has confirmed shifting the games from Chepauk to Pune.The Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune has aleady been a part of IPL,since they have hosted teams like Pune Warriors India and Rising Pune Supergiants.CSK will thereby face Rajasthan Royals in their next home game on 20th April in Pune instead of Chennai.

TOP 5 MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN IPL 2018

IPL 2018 will have already started by the time you read this blog.Anyways,in this blog we will be talking about the 5 most valuable players in this year's IPL.But first you need to know what is the definition of a valuable player.A valuable player is that player who is worth every penny paid to him by his franchise.Basically the IPL team also launches a top 5 list of MVPs(Most Valuable Players),showing the cost of per run by a batsman or the cost of per wicket by a bowler.Majorly in the list of  most valuable players,all rounders can be seen,and our blog is no exception.But since our blog always adds an element of surprise,it lists some other players too,who are more valuable than certain all rounders.Lets start the list:

1.Ben Stokes:

Needless to say,number 1 on the list is English All-Rounder Ben Stokes.He is equally proficient with the bat and the ball.This is the reason why he was the costliest player this year in the IPL auctions.He was sold for a mammoth price of Rs.12.5 crore(125 million) to Rajasthan Royals.He can play crucial knocks at the top order for Rajastan Royals and take some wickets too.Last year too when he played for Rising Pune Supergiants,he turned out to be the most valuable player in IPL.Rajasthan Royals will also have high expectations from him this year.

2.Mahendra Singh Dhoni:

MS Dhoni,popularly known as THALA in Chennai returns to CSK after two long years.CSK is incomplete without MS Dhoni and so he was retained this year by them at a price of 15 crore.Apart from captaining the team,he also keeps the wickets for them and plays the role of a finisher in the team.Boy I guess even 15 crores is less accounting the amount of services he provides.Known as Captain Cool,it will be interesting to see if MS Dhoni can lead CSK this year to their 3rd IPL title.

3.Virat Kohli:

This list would have been incomplete had we not included Virat run-machine Kohli.He is the only player that has played for the same franchise from the very beginning till now.Infact Royal Challengers Bangalore loves him so much that they paid him 2 crores extra when they retained him.He is now the most expensive player in the IPL,being paid 17 crore per season.He might not bowl or keep wickets,but a guy who has scored 973 runs and 4 centuries in a single season,17 crore seems legit to pay for him.Also he captains RCB,which adds to his services.

4.Sunil Narine:

Apart from Gambhir,if anyone is responsible for the uprise of Kolkata Knight Riders,it must be Sunil Narine.This is why he was retained by KKR this year and boy why shouldn't he be.I mean who would not like to keep in his team a guy who can bowl a maiden in super over as well as open the innings and score a 15 ball fifty for you.But unfortunatley,there is no clearance of whether he will play this year or not,as his bowling action has been banned by ICC.Chances are that he will get cleared before the commencement of the tournament and we hope to see him play.

5.Jasprit Bumrah:

As you all know that there is always an element of surprise in our blog,well today it is boom boom Bumrah.Most of you would be saying that Bumrah is just a bowler,he isn't an allrounder or a captain or a wicketkeeper,then why is he kept in this list?Well a bowler that bowls at a constant economy of 6,can swing the ball in early overs as well as bowl lethal yorkers in the death overs,I would say why not.He has been one of the major reasons of Mumbai Indians' success in the recent years.He is the no.1 bowler in the ICC ODI rankings as well as in the top 5 in the t20 rankings.He is definitely the bowler any captain would want in his side.Even if you ask him to defend 6 runs in the last over,he ain't gonna be disappointing you.
